How many secondary indexes are allowed per table?
Each table in DynamoDB can have up to 20 global secondary indexes (default quota) and 5 local secondary indexes. For more information about the differences between global secondary indexes and local secondary indexes, see Improving Data Access with Secondary Indexes.
Can you have more than one secondary index?
A table can have multiple secondary indexes, which give your applications access to many different query patterns. You can also Scan an index, in much the same way as you would Scan a table. Every secondary index is associated with exactly one table, from which it obtains its data.
How many secondary indexes are created?
Maximum number of secondary indexes we can have are 9.
What is local secondary index?
A local secondary index maintains an alternate sort key for a given partition key value. A local secondary index also contains a copy of some or all of the attributes from its base table. The data in a local secondary index is organized by the same partition key as the base table, but with a different sort key.
What is the difference between primary index and secondary index?
The main difference between primary and secondary index is that the primary index is an index on a set of fields that includes the primary key and does not contain duplicates, while the secondary index is an index that is not a primary index and can contain duplicates.
What do you need to know about global secondary index?
Range-based data retrieval: Include queries such as BEGINSWITH, BETWEEN, GREATER THAN, and LESS THAN on the sort key of the global secondary index. Global secondary index queries provide support for KeyConditionExpressions that enable range-based data retrieval.
Why do you need multiple indexes in SQL Server?
Basically it helps your data insert at the end of the index and not cause lots of disk IO and Page splits. Secondly, if you are creating other indexes on your data and they are constructed cleverly they will be reused.
When to use multiple columns in an index?
If you have queries that will be frequently using a relatively static set of columns, creating a single covering index that includes them all will improve performance dramatically. By putting multiple columns in your index, the optimizer will only have to access the table directly if a column is not in the index.
How many fields can be included in a multiple field index?
If there are records with duplicate values in the first field, Access sorts next by the second field defined for the index, and so on. You can include up to 10 fields in a multiple-field index.
