What is slippage in an extruder?
If you set the temperature too low, the filament may not melt properly. Just as a higher speed may result in a clogged nozzle, a low temperature can also clog the nozzle. As the extruder is no longer able to push the filament ahead, it starts “slipping”.
Why does extruder grind filament?
The direct cause of filament grinding comes from the extruder attempting to push the filament. Too much extruder gear tension. Fast or too much retraction. A non-level print bed that’s too close to the nozzle.
