How do you use Esc?

Manual ESC-by-ESC Calibration

  1. Plug one of your ESC three-wire cables into the throttle channel of the RC receiver.
  2. Turn on the transmitter and set throttle stick to maximum (full up).
  3. Connect the LiPo battery.
  4. You will hear a musical tone then two beeps.
  5. After the two beeps, lower the throttle stick to full down.

How to control a brushless motor through an ESC with Arduino?

Connect the signal wire of ESC mostly white or yellow colour to any PWM pin Arduino,I connected it to the D9 pin and specified it a Pin 9 in both Arduino Sketches (Serial and Pot). You can use more than one pins for controlling many motors. Connect the Potentiometer to the vcc or 5v pin of the Arduino and the Ground.

How to make an Arduino sensorless motor controller?

This topic shows how to build a sensorless brushless DC (BLDC) motor controller or simply an ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) with an Arduino UNO board. There are two types of brushless DC motors: sensored and sensorless. Sensored BLDC motor has built-in 3 hall effect sensors, these sensors detect the rotor position of the BLDC motor.

How to control a Sensored brushless DC motor?

There are two types of brushless DC motors: sensored and sensorless. Sensored BLDC motor has built-in 3 hall effect sensors, these sensors detect the rotor position of the BLDC motor. Controlling a sensored BLDC motor is easy since we know the rotor position like what was done in the project below: Sensored brushless DC motor control with Arduino.

Is there a BLDC motor library for Arduino?

The code below does not use any BLDC motor library. As mentioned above, Arduino pins 9, 10 and 11 can generate PWM signals where pin 9 and pin 10 are related with Timer1 module (OC1A and OC1B) and pin 11 is related with Timer2 module (OC2A).
