Why do you need channel images in ExpressionEngine?
Channel Images simplifies use of images within ExpressionEngine entries. With ExpressionEngine’s default install you must upload individual images one at a time to individual fields or worse embed them into your text fields. Channel Images removes this default process and simplifies image management.

Why does my channel image not fit in the box?
Great to have this feature, however it seems that the channel image/thumbnail does not automatically size the uploaded image to fit into the box and you end up with something zoomed in on a part of the uploaded image rather than see the entire image. I have tried working with differently sized images and they always seem to present this way.
Where do I add a custom channel cover?

How does the channel images unique plugin work?
Channel Images unique process allows you to multi-select images and batch upload them with individual title and description within an optional category. The plugin automatically renames each image and processes actions (Resize, Crop, Etc) to meet your template needs.
Which is an example of an image channel?
To reproduce colours as indicated in Plate XLV, each of the three channels should excite the phosphors as shown in Plate XLVI. For example, the red channel image should excite red phosphors in white, red, magenta, yellow, and 3-colour area (same as white).
Can a PNG be loaded with alpha channel?
If you are using OpenCV 2 or OpenCV 3 you should use IMREAD_* flags (as mentioned at here ). According to the documentation, OpenCV supports alpha channel on PNGs.
