Why is my UE4 project not showing a folder?
In case that after the restart of UE4 the folder doesn’t appear there could be 2 things: 1) UE4 will reflect only UCLASS files and folders – (if the folder doesn’t contain any UCLASS it will not show in editor). 2) Sometimes you have to regenerate project files so UHT will pick up the newly created objects.
Is there a problem with folders in Unreal Engine 4?
I created a new C++ project on Unreal Engine 4. After that I close visual studio and ue4 editor. I manually added public and private folders in the source folder. Then I made folders for the player, items, AI and gamemodes. The problem appears when I create a new class, the files appear in the respective folders but not in the editor.
How to create sub folders within C + + classes?
Created an empty code project in UDK4. The editor starts up. The option to add a new folder is greyed out. This seems odd, since you can add a new C++ Class and set your sub folder in there. When the class gets created and our IDE in my case (Visual Studios) opens up the folder gets created in there no problem.
What’s the problem with folder structure and building project?
A new screen appears saying that the project is opened on another visual studio and now will migrate all info to a temp folder. Now I can’t code because any attempt at using a C++ class by dragging it into the editor viewport instantly crashes UE4. What am I doing wrong?
How to create new folders in Unreal Editor?
There is no documentation on how to do this properly. Always create the folders in the Unreal editor by right clicking in the directory tree and selecting New Folder or clicking the green “Add New” bar at the top.
How to delete an empty folder in Unreal?
Unreal thinks these files are gone, but its there in the file system. Delete the folder again in content browser and unreal should now correctly delete the folder from the content browser. Sometimes you’ll need to delete twice in the content browser for it work. This way I don’t get any potential referencing errors.
