How to find the X and Y coordinates of a sprite?

How to find the X and Y coordinates of a sprite?

I imagine (though am most likely wrong) that there the initial x and y coordinates of the sprite are saved and can be found even if rotated; is there a function that does this? Or do I need to write a script and then call it every time I want to spawn the bullet object? Thanks for your help.

How to set the origin of a sprite?

The x position of the origin. The y position of the origin. This function can be used to set the x and y origin of a sprite, and takes relative values based on the (0,0) position being the upper left corner of the sprite. The following image illustrates this:

How to make something relative in the code?

In DnD, you typically only input x and y values as numbers, so the “relative” checkbox lets you tell the game you want the number relative to the current instance’s (x,y) position, as opposed to “absolute”, from the (0,0) position of the room.

How to get the exact position of an object in Game Maker?

I am making a game in Game Maker right now and cannot figure out how to get an objects exact position and have another object move to that position. Can someone please help me? where instance is the instance id (gained through some method, object id can be used if the instance is the only instantiation of the object).

How to find the coordinates of an object?

The functions lengthdir_x and lengthdir_y allow you to find a set of coordinates out from an object’s x/y origin by specifying how many pixels out from source you want, and in which direction.

How is collision detection used for multiple objects?

The obvious approaches to collision detection for multiple objects are very slow. Checking every object against every other object will, of course, work, but is too inefficient to be used when the number of objects is at all large.

How to get translation vector in Bullet physics?

I haven’t actually tested anything of it. For some reasons, it appears that Bullet Physics uses the term “origin” for “translation”. I guess that once you’ve found the transform matrix you’re after ( btTransform ), you’ll need to use the getTransform () method to retrieve the translation vector.
