How to export a 3dsmax cube to FBX?
I created a simple cube on 3DSMax on which I applied some textures (on diffuse, reflection and self illumination), and try to export it to FBX. I did that by modifying one of the materials in the material editor. Warning: Material export failed.
Is it possible to export FBX textures in Unity?
Simplifying my scene down to a cube with a autodesk, slapping a random autodesk material on it, and exporting the fbx produces the same grey cube I’d been getting before. However, if I try a standard material with a random bitmap assigned to the diffuse channel, unity opens it perrfectly.
How to export a material to FBX [ solved ]?
First be sure that every material you use is accessible by render path, secondly as some said there might be issues with mental ray or v-ray renderer (apparently not supporting the FBX) so make sure to change to default scan line or standard materials, also Texture coordinates are a must, unwrapping etc.
Can you convert FBX to 3dsmax for transmutr?
To learn how to convert them so they will be compatible with other applications, see the Render Map Dialog topic in the 3ds Max documentation. You should use Standard material only in 3dsmax when exporting FBX files to be used in Transmutr, as it is not possible to recognize other material types.
Why is my cube not exporting to FBX?
Warning: Material export failed. I have the same error if I try to export a cube and just apply one of the presets materials (obviously the name of the material change in the error report). As I want precisely to work on the way 3DSMax exports this material information in the FBX files, I am looking for a way to export correctly my cube.
Why does max2011 not export to FBX?
Same in Max2011 which has the latest version of FBX. In fact, 2009 doesn’t seem to like many of the MR material types – I get the same error with the ProMats and others. I can only assume there is a technical reason for this, but I don’t know it I’m afraid.
