How is XY probe offset measured?
Here is an easy way to measure the offset: Mark the impression with a marker tip to make it more visible. Now jog X and Y until the probe is directly over the spot where the nozzle was. Take the amount you jogged as your X and Y offset to use in G31. When the probe is to the left of the nozzle the X value is negative.
How do I set Z offset Bltouch?
- Control > Restore failsafe (start with default settings if first installation)
- Prepare > Auto home.
- Prepare > Move axis > Move 0.1mm > Move Z.
- Control > Motion > Z offset and enter the value obtained above e.g. -1.4 in this example.
- Control > Store memory.
Where is the Min Pos on a Z-probe?
My Z-Probe sensor is 30mm behind the nozzle, that is why I adjusted the Y-Endstop and therefore the Y-MIN_POS, to make sure the Probe can reach any part of the bed as well as the nozzle. I think that is the correct value. Please check if this ok.
Do You Set Min Pos to Y or Max?
In a case like yours, with a probe behind the nozzle, you should set a negative Y_MIN_POS to allow the nozzle to move forward past “Y=0” (as you have). Then you should either switch to a Y max endstop or move the min endstop so the probe can reach the front edge of the bed (as you have).
How do I get the offset of the probe?
The easiest way to get the Z offset value is to: Home the Z axis. Raise Z and deploy the probe. Move Z down slowly until the probe triggers. Take the current Z value and negate it. ( 5.2 => -5.2) Set with M851 Z-5.2 and #define Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -5.2. For X and Y you have to measure the distance.
How to SET XYZ probe offset from extruder?
Set the XYZ distance from the nozzle to the probe trigger-point. Home the Z axis. Raise Z and deploy the probe. Move Z down slowly until the probe triggers. Set with M851 Z-5.2 and #define Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -5.2.
