Why do polygons disappear after I have created and saved?
Save your project map. If you did all of that and you still are not seeing your polygons, right click on the layer and open the attribute table and see if you have anything in there. I just did that, but my attribute table says I have 0 features…
What happens when I draw a polygon in Quantum GIS?
I’m working with Quantum GIS at this moment. And as the title says, when I finish drawing a polygon, it disappears again. The new object does appear in my attribute table and in the legend/’filling of the polygon’ should not be the problem.
Why does my shapefile disappear when I save it?
My issue was with a shapefile created in Arc and edited in QGIS. All edits appeared to be taking during the edit session, but new features would disappear when saved. Any features that were modified rather than created would render correctly. The records were present in the attribute table but no geometry was visible.
How do you finish a polygon using Toos?
It seems in order to complete a polygon using these toos, your finishing line has to cross over a portion of where you started. Then hit F2 or right click and click “Finish Sketch.” Works fine now. Good luck! Thanks for contributing an answer to Geographic Information Systems Stack Exchange! Please be sure to answer the question.
Why are newly added points disappearing after saving?
If snapping was enabled, it would snap to the vertices of the apparently missing features. The edits were still missing if the offending file was added to a new empty project. If the shapefile was exported (saved as) a new file all of the edits would show up. I came across the same issue and thought I’d share how I resolved it.
What to do when features disappear in ArcGIS?
You could check to see if somehow they get sent to feature exclusion, that happened to me recently. Go to that layer’s Properties > Display > Feature Exlusion at the bottom. Restore all worked for me. Not sure if this is exactly your issue given the attribute part as well, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
