What is a space-time cube ArcGIS?
The Create Space Time Cube tool summarizes point datasets into a netCDF data structure by aggregating the points into space-time bins that form a cube. Each bin within the cube contains a count of the number of points that occurred at the bin location for the time-step interval specified.
How space-time cube works?
When you aggregate using a set of defined locations as aggregation polygons, a defined locations cube is created. The output space-time cube will have the same spatial and temporal resolution as the multidimensional raster, in which each raster cell of each dimension is converted to a single space-time bin.
What is hot spot analysis Arcgis?
The hot spot analysis tool assesses whether high or low values (the number of crimes, accident severity, or dollars spent on sporting goods, for example) cluster spatially. The resultant field containing the number of events in each polygon becomes the Input Field for analysis.
What are spatial and temporal patterns?
Spatial refers to space. Temporal refers to time. Spatiotemporal, or spatial temporal, is used in data analysis when data is collected across both space and time. It describes a phenomenon in a certain location and time — for example, shipping movements across a geographic area over time (see above example image).

Output from this tool is a netCDF representation of your input points. You may visualize the cube point count data in either 2D or 3D using ArcGIS Pro. In addition to the netCDF file, messages summarizing the space-time cube dimensions and contents are written to the Results window.

The Create Space Time Cube and Emerging Hot Spot Analysis tools are available in both ArcGIS for Desktop and ArcGIS Pro. The data stored in the space-time netCDF cube can be visualized in either two or three dimensions using the sample script tools available for use with ArcGIS Pro.
How to calculate time step intervals in ArcGIS Pro?
Time-step intervals are always fixed durations, and the tool requires a minimum of 10 time steps. If you do not provide a Time Step Interval value, the tool will calculate one for you.
