How to insert dynamic text based on values from a feature?
Right-click the dynamic text inserted on the Layout View and select Properties from the context menu. In the Properties dialog, click OK. The dynamic text displays the values from the selected field in the index layer’s attribute table, based on the Data Driven Page. Is This Content Helpful?
How to insert dynamic text in a map document?
In the map document, create Data Driven Pages and verify that the index layer contains the attribute values for the dynamic text. See the Web help topic ‘ Creating Data Driven Pages ‘. Seems like an extremely useful way to update map credits with little to no resources. As mentioned in my comment above, there isn’t a way to do this using dynamic text. However, you could write a script to do this and attach it to a python addin button or to run when you save the MXD or something.

If I have one of the rows already filled out, is there a way to have the other corresponding fields populate to match the row that contains the same information based upon the “heat number” field.

Is there any way to have fields withing the attribute table “Auto-populate” if there are already other fields containing the data. In example, I fill out my “Pipeline” Table and within the table some of the fields to be attributed are manufacturer, specification, size, wall thickness, mill location, etc.

The only attribute table accessible through Dynamic Text is the attribute table of your Data Driven Pages index layer. I’m assuming your Data Driven Pages map book is based off of your grid layer, and if so then you’re in luck.
