How can I download the World Cities Database?
The Comprehensive Database can be downloaded in CSV or SQL (MySQL) format upon purchase. The database has too many rows to fit in a single Excel worksheet, but we can provide the data in Excel format, broken out by country, upon request. We can also provide the data as a .bak file for SQL server.
Where does our world in data get its data from?
Note that on November 30, Our World in Data transitioned from the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) to Johns Hopkins University as our source for confirmed cases and deaths. This followed the ECDC’s announcement that they were switching from daily to weekly updates.
