How do you show Transform controls in Photoshop?
Do one of the following:
- Choose Edit > Free Transform.
- If you are transforming a selection, pixel-based layer, or selection border, choose the Move tool . Then select Show Transform Controls in the options bar.
- If you are transforming a vector shape or path, select the Path Selection tool .

Similar to the way this is handled in InDesign would be ideal, with a dedicated keyboard shortcut I can assign (such as Command + , and Command + . in InDesign for Mac, if I recall the shortcut correctly).

Transforming with CMD + T off and on is the best solution that I know of, but it would be nice to have a way to toggle Show Transform Controls since my solution only applies to the layer you are working on.
