What does color dodge do?
The Color dodge mode lightens the colors of the base layers and reduces the contrast. This results in saturated mid-tones.
What attributes of color does the luminosity blend mode not affect?
The Color blend mode allows us to add or change colors in an image without affecting the brightness values. Whereas the Color mode blends the colors of a layer while ignoring lightness values, the Luminosity mode blends the lightness values while ignoring the color information!
What’s the difference between blend and result colors?
The “ Blend ” color is the color applied with the painting or editing tool to the Base layer. The “ Result ” color is the color resulting from the blend. How the Base and the Blend colors mix depends on the algorithm or Blending Mode that you select.
How does the difference blending mode work in Photoshop?
The Difference Blending Modes uses the difference of the base and blend pixels as the resulting blend. White inverts the colors of the base layer. It is the same result as inverting the colors of the base layer by pressing Command I (PC: Ctrl I).
Is the result color of a pixel the underlying color?
The result color for each pixel is either the source color or the underlying color. The probability that the result color is the source color depends on the opacity of the source. If opacity of the source is 100%, then the result color is the source color. If opacity of the source is 0%, then the result color is the underlying color.
How does blending affect the alpha channel of a layer?
Most blending modes modify only color values of the source layer, not the alpha channel. The Alpha Add blending mode affects the alpha channel of the source layer, and the silhouette and stencil blending modes affect the alpha channels of layers beneath them. You can’t directly animate blending modes by using keyframes.
