Is there a problem with the cell fracture addon?
After countless experiments with basic shapes using Cell Fracture addon, I tried to brake few more complicated objects. I’ve imported a human object from Makehuman and tried to brake different parts, but the result I get is some blocky objects remaining after applying cell fracture (see attached pictures).
What’s the problem with cell fracture in Blender?
Im having a problem with the materials index as it dosent apply the colour i specify before i run cell fracture. Im using Blender 2.67b. In addition to setting the material index in the Cell fracture popup, your object must also have a material in that given index before you attempt to fracture.
Which is better cell fracture or cell triangulate?
Then you could add optionally a triangulate modifier, since Boolean operations can handle them a bit better than n-gons in my experience. And finally you could use cell fracture OR you could use the Fracture Modifier, which gets you better results and is faster, but it is available in a separate build of blender only.
How is the geometry of a fracture determined?
Both upper and lower parts of each fracture are oriented at 45° and 135° or 135° and 45°, respectively. The fracture half-length for two outer and inner fractures is 295 and 125 ft, respectively. It should be mentioned that the total fracture length remains the same as that of cases 1 and 2.
Is there a way to triangulate with cell fracture?
You can also triangulate with “ctrl+t” and do a tri-to-quad with “alt+j” to convert the ngons (cell fracture probably works with ngons, but it can be nice to convert them). Use zero recursion level. Unfortunately more than 0 recursion levels means that it is much more likely to produce errors.
How to convert ngons to cell fracture in Blender?
Select all non-manifold edges with “ctrl+shift+alt+m”, then fill with “f”. You can also triangulate with “ctrl+t” and do a tri-to-quad with “alt+j” to convert the ngons (cell fracture probably works with ngons, but it can be nice to convert them).
Where do I find cell fracture in Blender?
In latest builds, Blender 2.8 RC and later, you can find Cell Fracture by selecting the object and then go to Object in the menu of the 3D viewport and click Quick Effect > Cell Fracture. For older builds: In Blender you go to Edit > Preferences > Addons. And in the searchfield you type: frac. Then activate the addon, save preferences and refresh.
When do you need to use a cell fracture?
Cell Fracture is useful for occasions where you need to simulate something being broken, Like that coffee cup tutorial that has been done a few thousand times. Its also useful if you wish to make stone like loose objects or stone/tile walls and floors.
Why are circular hollow sections used in offshore structures?
Circular hollow sections have evolved to be a primary choice for the fixed type offshore structures (namely jackets) and the mobile type offshore platforms (jack-ups), due to its appealing characteristics in minimizing the wave forces and structural efficiency in resisting various loading conditions.
