What is a far field mic?
Far-field ribbons are mics designed to have a balanced treble-to-bass ratio from at least 1 foot (0.35 m) from the source and retains bass up to at least 8 feet (2 m) away from the source.
What is far field pickup?
There are many applications in which a desired sound source is located a far distance (> 6 feet) from the microphone, such as voice assistant devices, covert surveillance and ceiling mounted conferencing systems.
What is the difference between near field and far field?
