Is 1500 a good MTU?
The MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) states how big a single packet can be. Generally speaking, when you are talking to devices on your own LAN the MTU will be around 1500 bytes and the internet runs almost universally on 1500 as well. However, almost none of this matters on the internet.
What MTU 1492?
The maximum transmission unit, here on referred to as MTU, is the maximum amount of bytes that can be encapsulated in an IP packet. It is generally recommended that the MTU for a WAN interface connected to a PPPoE DSL network be 1492.
Does MTU size affect speed?

1480 is just fine. If you are using wireless then try wired. Also the hubs have dodgy UPnP which either isn’t fully compatible with Xbox one or just randomly stops working depending on the hub version. This causes NAT issues.
Is the MTU on my router really 1492?
All that means to me is that the 1492 was an acquired number through speculation. What I’m trying to figure out is if I am right and 1464 is my MTU would I see any benefit configuring my router and other software apps to acknowledge this MTU instead of 1492.

After finding the max transmission unit which is 1424 and after adding 28 is 1452. But the whole problem is I’m under PPPoE connection and my MTU value must be 1492 and no other value for PPPoE user. My question is 1492 value appropiate since it uses high bandwidth and the packet needs to be fragmented.
