The term “open” for an open community refers to the opportunity for anyone to join and contribute to the collaborative effort. The direction and goals are determined collaboratively by all members of the community.

In thriving communities people have access to resources and support to gain equitable access to meaningful employment, living wages, affordable housing, transportation, healthy food, clean water, comprehensive healthcare, quality education and childcare.

What does a closed community have?
A closed community intentionally limits links with outsiders and outside communities. Closed communities may be of a religious, ethnic, or political nature. Typically, members of closed communities are either born into the community or are accepted into it.
How are open and closed communities different?
Open communities are when species appear to be independently distributed along a spatial transect or a gradient of ecological conditions. Closed communities are where distributions of several species coincide closely, but are largely separated from those of other sets of species.

Whether you’re trying to start a club or simply meet new people, it can be difficult to build a community. However, with time and patience you can build a community of your very own. Keep your community strong by encouraging people to be kind to one another and stay close.

Finding an open community that fosters opportunities to practice and strengthen language and customs is important for becoming and/or remaining bilingual. It is common for communities to self segregate and only be open to those who share the culture and language.
Can you run a community without community engagement?
Without comunity engagement you can’t continue running a good community and you won’t have any interaction. Communities exist but to identify them, give them a place and involve them, just sharing content is often not enough. Community engagement depends on the benefits for the members constituting it.
Do you want to be more open with your friends?
You may want to be more open with your spouse or close friends, but not with your boss or people you don’t know as well. You may choose not to be open with people you don’t fully trust because to be open is to share vulnerable information about yourself.
Why is it important to be open with others?
And when you are open and honest about negative feelings, it also makes you responsible for suggesting alternatives to change those feelings. You have the power to change things by being open and sharing things. Keep in mind also that being completely open with everyone in every situation may be very inappropriate.
