Can I ping between VLANs?
No as it’s the same network. In general you should avoid having two VLAN but in the same address space. Generaly speaking that will add a administration burden and block intervlan routing.
How do you communicate VLAN 1 to VLAN 2?
The simplest way to enable routing between the two VLANs to simply connect an additional port from each VLAN into a Router. The Router doesn’t know that it has two connections to the same switch — nor does it need to. The Router operates like normal when routing packets between two networks.

You can assign every port to a different vlan than 1, but 1 will always be there. If you have a port in a different vlan and remove it, it has to go somewhere – that’s what vlan 1 is there for.

Are there any ports on more than one VLAN?
