Can you run EIGRP on a Frame Relay network?
EIGRP is normally pretty straight-forward to configure. You type in the correct network commands, routers become neighbors and start exchanging routing information. Frame-relay is an exception though…it’s no problem to run EIGRP on a frame-relay network but there are some small issues we might have to deal with.
How to troubleshoot EIGRP topology active in Cisco?
You can use the show ip eigrp topology active command in order to help troubleshoot the SIA issue. Look for the small r in the command output. This means that the router awaits a reply to a query for that prefix from that neighbor. Here is an example. View the topology. The links R1-R6 and R1-R5 are shut down.
Do you use show or debug In EIGRP?
EIGRP is preconfigured with the AS numbers as specified in the topology picture. Do not use show run! (this will spoil the fun use the appropiate ‘show’ and ‘debug’ commands. This will teach you the skills needed to become a true troubleshooting master. One of your colleagues created the frame-relay connection for a new branch office.
Is the EIGRP command included in the configuration?
It is important that you verify whether the process router EIGRP has the eigrp log-neighbor-changes command. However, this is included by default since Cisco bug ID CSCdx67706, so it does not show up in the configuration in that case.
How does the enhanced implementation of EIGRP work?
The enhanced implementation uses the configured interface bandwidth in order to determine how much EIGRP data to transmit in a given amount of time. By default, EIGRP will limit itself to using no more than 50% of the interface bandwidth.
What are the rules for EIGRP over virtual circuits?
There are three basic rules: The traffic that EIGRP is allowed to send on a single virtual circuit (VC) cannot exceed the capacity of that VC. The total EIGRP traffic for all virtual circuits cannot exceed the access line speed of the interface. The bandwidth allowed for EIGRP on each virtual circuit must be the same in each direction.
What is the default bandwidth percent for EIGRP?
Configuration Commands. The bandwidth-percent command tells EIGRP what percentage of the configured bandwidth it may use. The default is 50 percent. Since the bandwidth command is also used to set the routing protocol metric, it may be set to a particular value to influence route selection for policy reasons.
