What happens when rendering in cycles with GPU?
Okay so if I open blender and work on it everything will work normally be it Eevee or cycles and when it comes to rendering if I am rendering in cycles with gpu be it optix or Cuba my computer shuts down in a sec. And it then needs to be restarted again
What is the IOR of a glass shader?
The IOR we put in the Glass shader is not the IOR of the medium (glass or fluid) itself, but really the IOR of that interface – the boundary between the two mediums (glass and air, or liquid and air). The calculation for this is mystical interface IOR is quite simple.
Why is the bevel of a glass wrong?
This is probably the method you know – a normal model of a glass with some liquid fitting snugly inside it. The reason why this is wrong is because it leaves a small air gap between the fluid and the glass, and the bevel of the liquid at the top is the wrong way around.
Why does Blender 2.8 keep crashing while rendering?
I also noted that several times when Blender became unresponsive, it might recover and become responsive again as long as the delay was less than the 10 seconds I had set. What this says to me is that the Nvidia driver coupled with Blender 2.8 somehow generates an occasional spate of “hung”. The pair will sometimes recover, and all is fine.
Why does Blender keep crashing during TDR timeout?
I found some reference (and subsequently lost it) to a Registry setting for TDR Timeout. It seems that the graphics system interface keeps tabs on whether the graphics driver is hung or not, and if the interface hangs for more than a certain time, it throws a fit and dumps some data somewhere.
Is it possible to render Spring Demo on GPU?
So I’m trying to render the Spring demo but everytime I render it using GPU it crashes but if I render it on my CPU it doesn’t crash. Does anyone having similar issues?
What does crash as in Blender closes or it becomes unresponsive?

Why does OpenCL rendering crash with two GPUs?
OpenCL rendering crashes on both Mesa’s OpenCL implementation and AMD’s one. OpenCL rendering crashes regardless of whether one or two GPUs are selected. OpenCL rendering on the CPU works fine. I haven’t tested other operating systems or with CUDA, the problem may exist elsewhere as well. Rendering with 2.79b on the same system works fine.
How to fix OpenCL rendering in Blender 2.80?
Open Blender 2.80 Alpha In Edit -> User Preferences -> System enable OpenCL compute on one or more GPUs. Add a Camera to the scene. In the Properties Window -> Render -> Performance switch to GPU Compute. Click Render -> Render Image to begin rendering. Blender will hang for a moment and then crash.
Can a small TDR delay cause a computer to crash?
@Jörg Dittmer (NoHow) This is well known among the developers. A small TDR delay shouldn’t crash the operating system, as @Samarth kapoor (tiltanimation) is experiencing, it simply results in a reset of the GPU (which is also a problem, but a different one).
