What is negative image in Haar Cascade?
Haar like feature are digital image features used in object recognition. For example, with a human face, it requires a lot of positive images (images of faces) and negative images (images without faces) to train the classifier.
How does Haar cascade face detection?
So what is Haar Cascade? It is an Object Detection Algorithm used to identify faces in an image or a real time video. The algorithm is given a lot of positive images consisting of faces, and a lot of negative images not consisting of any face to train on them.
How do you use Cascade trainer GUI?
To start the training, you need to create a folder for your classifier. Create two folders inside it. One should be “p” (for positive images) and the other should be “n” (for negative images). For example, you should have a folder named “Car” which has the mentioned folders inside it.
How are Haar Cascades used in object detection?
So the initial Haar feature might just check if the image could possibly be a face (in the case of face detection), then the following stages have a few more of the most essential Haar features. This is a favorable method since early on images not containing the desired object are discarded and not processed anymore.
Where to get background / negative sample images for Haar?
I know this is quite old but for those of you who are Reading this and want to know more about how to get more negative and positive images, I suggest you check out Image Net and also This to know how to use it. Happy Training. Thanks for contributing an answer to Stack Overflow! Please be sure to answer the question.
How are black and white boxes used in Haar Cascades?
They are not directly used but the features (black and white boxes) are what we can call Haar-like in the sense that, well you get it by now. Lots of these Haar-like features can be applied to an image and using the Adaboost algorithm which finds an optimal threshold for classifying the training images correctly.
How many positive and negative images do you need for haka1?
All the students will receive 200 positive and 200 negative sample images for training. You may like to add more positive and negative images by recording some sequences in HAKA1 or adding more public images from Internet resources.
