How do you know if you have project management experience?
Project management is first-hand involvement in initiating, planning, executing, controlling, monitoring, and handing over a project. So, even if you don’t have the title “Project Manager” on your resume, if you’ve spent time planning, leading, directing, and managing projects — you have project management experience.
Do I have enough experience for PMP?
If you have something less than a four-year college degree (i.e. high school diploma or associates degree), you can still get your PMP certification, but the requirements increase. Here you would have to show five years of overall project work experience, as well as 7,500 hours for the volume requirement.
How do I find out my PMP hours?
To qualify to take the exam, you need 7,500 hours of experience in leading and directing projects (a note about this later). If you have a bachelor’s degree or better, you can qualify with 4,500 hours of experience leading and directing projects.
Do You need project management experience for PMP credential?
We require an objective statement in order to discern whether the experience listed is truly a project, or if it is operational & administrative work. Using the principles of project management in operational tasks can be very effective, but does not provide the professional project management experience required for the PMP credential.
How many hours of work experience do you need for PMI?
PMI requires that you have at least 4,500 hours of professional work experience leading projects during at least a 36 month period. If you have in excess of that, they are cool with that – they just want you to at least have the minimum required experience.

Can a former manager sign off on a PMP application?
