How do you assign bones to a vertex group?
Vertex groups will only be created for bones which are setup as deforming (Properties Editor ‣ Bone ‣ Deform Panel). You can then manually select the vertices and assign them to a particular vertex group of your choosing to have bones in the armature influence them.
How do you reorient bones in a blender?
You can always correct or define the orientation of a bone through its Roll value. In the Armature’s Edit Mode, select the bone(s) that you want to correct, press Ctrl + R, and move your mouse.
What is a vertex weight?
Blender provides a Vertex Weights panel from where you can get (and edit) information about the weight values of each vertex of a mesh. That is: to which vertex groups the vertex is assigned with which weight value. The Vertex Weights panel can be found in the Sidebar region of the 3D Viewport.
How to assign vertex groups to bones precisely?
Vertex groups are selected in the armature options, the vertex group names correspond to the bones I want them to be attached to, and I parented the armature to the mesh with the ‘armature deform’ option (I tried automatic weights and the result was even worse).
How is the vertex of the skull formed?
Vertex (anatomy) In humans, the vertex is formed by four bones of the skull: the frontal bone, the two parietal bones, and the occipital bone. These bones are connected by the coronal suture between the frontal and parietal bones, the sagittal suture between the two parietal bones, and the lambdoid suture between the parietal and occipital bones.
What is the vertex of your head?

How are the parietal and vertex bones connected?
