Why is my Raspberry Pi not detecting the I2C bus?
I didn’t understand what is the problem !!! Can anyone one help me to solve this issue. The I2C bus allows multiple devices to be connected to your Raspberry Pi, each with a unique address, that can often be set by changing jumper settings on the module.
How many devices are on the I2C bus 0?
On my i2c bus 0, I have two devices, 0x32 and 0x20. When I use i2cdetect, only one of them shows up.
Why does my I2C device not show up?
Various I2C devices may behave differently when reading / writing bytes. Some, for example, may expect write_then_read command, and won’t acknowledge a standalone read command. Others may expect at least 16 bits of data to be read / written and otherwise the transaction fails.
What do you see when you type i2cdetect-y 1?
First of all, what do you see when you type i2cdetect -y 1 (assuming you have 2nd version of Raspberry Pi, else type i2cdetect -y 0) ? Do you see an empty address i2c table ?
How to enable the I2C system in raspi?
Plugging it all together and I find that I need to install the i2c-tools package, then use raspi-config to enable the I2C system. The wiringPi gpio command has a shortcut to the i2cdetect command and running it gives Before 3 weeks everything working properly, detected 68.
Can a Raspberry Pi talk to a GPIO?
Adafruit’s Raspberry Pi Lesson 4. GPIO Setup I2C is a very commonly used standard designed to allow one chip to talk to another. So, since the Raspberry Pi can talk I2C we can connect it to a variety of I2C capable chips and modules.
Why are my I2C pins not going high or low?
If they do not go high and low on command then there is something wrong with the pins, if they do but you still cannot get I2C to work then your problem will need further investigation. Here is a really good guide which might help you!
Is You Looking at the correct I2C bus?
Are you looking at the correct I2C bus, between rev 1 and rev 2 the GPIO header was changed from using I2C 0 to I2C 1, see eLinux – RPi Low-level peripherals for details of the various pin changes. should scan both buses separately, if your devices show up after one of the calls then that is the bus they are on.
