How do I clear my Raspberry Pi swap?
To clear the swap memory on your system, you simply need to cycle off the swap. This moves all data from swap memory back into RAM. It also means that you need to be sure you have the RAM to support this operation. An easy way to do this is to run ‘free -m’ to see what is being used in swap and in RAM.
What is ZRAM Linux?
zram, formerly called compcache, is a Linux kernel module for creating a compressed block device in RAM, i.e. a RAM disk with on-the-fly disk compression. The two most common uses for zram are for the storage of temporary files ( /tmp ) and as a swap device.

A higher percentage of swap use is normal when provisioned modules make heavy use of the disk. High swap usage may be a sign that the system is experiencing memory pressure.
Can I add RAM to Raspberry Pi 4?
Raspberry Pi’s official operating system, Raspberry Pi OS (formerly Raspbian), is 32-bit, which means that single processes can’t use more than 4 GB of RAM. While there can still be some benefit from extra RAM (e.g. caching, multiple programs and tabs open), it does restrict how it can be used.
What is problem does dphys-swapfile ( 8 man ) solve?
The dphys-swapfile (8) man page does not state benefits of using the program. Since the device is experiencing OOM kills with dphys-swapfile, it does not appear (to me) to solve any problems. dphys-swapfile also seems to forget to set swappiness to a sane value.

You can systemctl disable dphys-swapfile if you want, and list a swap partition in fstab instead (or whatever you normally do, or not use any swap). You can delete the swap file too since (pretty certain) its a dphys-swapfile exclusive thing.
