What is lens distortion in nuke?
Nuke’s LensDistortion node allows you to undistort or distort an image according to several radial distortion models that ship with Nuke or a custom model you define yourself. You can calculate the warp for use on the input image or output the warp to an STMap for use elsewhere in the script.
Can we remove lens distortion using camera Tracker node in nuke?
If you set Lens Distortion to No Lens Distortion and used a separate LensDistortion node to remove lens distortion from your footage before camera tracking, you can use the same LensDistortion node to either apply the distortion to your CG elements or to undistort your 2D footage.
Why do we Undistort the plate?
In practice, the effects of lens distortion on the plate (the live action image) will be removed during camera tracking, which makes the matchmoving artist responsible for dealing with lens distortion. As a result, you will get a mathematically perfect virtual camera and undistorted plates.
What are lens grids used for?
Description: A Lens Grid is an evenly patterned checker type arrangement that is printed and physically palced in front of a camera lens in order to record the physical characteristicsor imperfections that are natural to all camera lenses.
What is post production tracking?
Tracking is the process of automatically locating a point or series of points from frame to frame in a sequence, allowing the user to stablise, track to or solve object or camera movement in the shot. A VFX artist tracks or stablizes shots daily.
What’s the difference between undistort and initundistortrectifymap?
I am currently trying to speed up the my image acquisition by replacing a call to cv::undistort for every image with a single use of initUndistortRectifyMap and then only a cv::remap for every image. Currently, my test callback looks like this:
What’s the difference between a distorted and an undistorted image?
(Note that the fact that the “distorted” image is straight and the “undistorted” image is morphed is not the point, I’m just testing the undistortion functions with a straight test image.) The grid image and the red grid points are totally misaligned now.
What happens when I undistort both the image and the grid points?
When I now undistort both the image and the grid points, I get the following result: (Note that the fact that the “distorted” image is straight and the “undistorted” image is morphed is not the point, I’m just testing the undistortion functions with a straight test image.)
Where can I find the undistort code in GitHub?
The undistort code can be found e.g. here: https://github.com/Itseez/opencv/blob/master/modules/imgproc/src/undistort.cpp Does anyone know why the undistortion is done in stripes? And more important: How can I use initUndistortRectifyMap to get the same result as with undistort and which is the correct result?
