Create and Take a Poll
- To open the Chatter page, click the Chatter tab.
- In the publisher, click the Poll tab.
- In the Question field, enter: We’ll be handing out hoodies at the company all-hands.
- Enter the following answer options in the Choice fields.
- To publish your poll, click Ask.

How do you make a Chatter post?
If you’d like the Chatter post to include a file, you’ll need two extra steps: uploading the file to Salesforce and then associating it to the post. To upload the file, you’ll create a ContentVersion object: You’ll note a few things here: ContentDocument ID shows as a required field — do not map anything to it.
Why would someone use a Chatter group?
Through the use of Chatter groups, users can communicate and share. Chatter groups are classified as either public or private. Public means anyone can see and add posts, comments, and files. Anyone can join a public group.
How do I enable chatter questions?
With Chatter Questions, users can ask questions in their Chatter feed, in groups, and in records by selecting Question in the action drop-down menu of the Chatter Publisher. This feature should be enabled for Orgs by default. If it’s not enabled, Salesforce Support can help.
