How to make smoke flow with the shape of the domain?

How to make smoke flow with the shape of the domain?

To have the smoke be contained by Collision objects, place the smoke emitters inside them. In this example a text object has been converted to mesh, set as smoke collision and placed within the smoke domain. Try adding loop cuts to the domain and shape it as you like.

Are there domain objects that contain actual smoke?

A Domain object (Simulates and contains actual smoke) and a Flow object (defines where the smoke is being emitted) Oh, you are so right! I just didn’t use this for so long, o forgot about it!

What should I do if my smoke simulation is not working?

The correct approach would be to use attribute nodes to get the Data from the Simulation. Since you used Quick effects you can just use the Material that it created on the domain. With that Set up you should see the smoke (but not the fire) rendering. For rendering the fire you have to add an Emission shader to the nodetree.

Why do I not have a smoke Sim?

You probably changed the Domain to your Flow object. That would explain why nothing appears. You will always need a Domain object for smoke sims as the Domain objects is the heart of the Simulation process. So you will need 2 objects to make a basic smoke sim work.

Why is there white smoke coming out of my exhaust?

White Smoke: White smoke coming from the exhaust usually points to one point of failure: the injectors. Usually, white smoke indicates that the diesel fuel is not burning correctly. Unburned diesel fuel will make its way through the exhaust completely unused.

Why does my diesel engine have blue smoke?

The engine could be delivering too much fuel, not enough fuel, too much air or simply not enough air. Blue engine smoke is the rarest type of smoke emanating from a diesel engine. The presence of blue smoke is an indication of burning oil.

How do you make smoke flow around an object?

To have the smoke flow around, you would need to add another object and set it as smoke collision. Smoke Collision objects are used to deflect smoke and influence airflow.

How big is smoke domain rendering as solid object?

The blend file is about 300Mb (which in itself doesn’t seem normal- that’s much bigger than all my previous blends) so I can’t upload it here, and as this is my first post I can’t put up a url. I’d appreciate any help or advice- I’m happy to post screen caps of my setup if there is anything in particular you need to see.

Why does smoke appear as a solid object?

I am following BlenderGuru’s recent Glass Smash Tutorial which includes using a smoke sim to recreate dust and fine fragments of glass. In materials mode the smoke appears fine. Unfortunately every time I render the scene (using either preview or full render) the adaptive smoke domain appears as a solid box.
