Is there a way to callout from queueable execute?

Is there a way to callout from queueable execute?

Callout not allowed from this future method. Please enable callout by annotating the future method. eg: @Future (callout=true) 07:13:51.752 (8701449752265601)|SYSTEM_METHOD_EXIT| [1263]|System.Http.send (ANY) Is there a way to annotate the execute with ” (callout=true)”.

How to capture queueable class status when job is completed?

Put you queue able code in try/catch and update the job status to complete at the end of the queuable as last line in try block or as a failure in the catch block . It may not work if the errors are non catch-able like limit exceptions.

Can you add multiple jobs to a queueable job?

When chaining jobs, you can add only one job from an executing job with System.enqueueJob, which means that only one child job can exist for each parent queueable job. Starting multiple child jobs from the same queueable job is a no-no.

Do you have to implement database.allowscallouts interface?

You have to implement the “Database.AllowsCallouts” interface along with the “Queueable” interface to enable callouts, just like in batch apex and scheduled apex. Your solution is perfect, Shashank. I think Ken Koellner has been rude, but I am here to congratulate you 🙂

How to allow callouts from chained queueable apex jobs?

The intial queable job will perform the web callout but any subsequent jobs that are chained from the first job will fail with the “System.AsyncException: Maximum callout depth has been reached.” This severly limits the usefulness of chaining queueable Apex jobs for our use case for running asynchronous Apex code.

Can You mark a future method as a callout?

Yes, you should be able to mark a future method as a callout using the syntax mentioned here: https://www.salesforce.com/us/developer/docs/apexcode/Content/apex_classes_annotation_future.htm Shashank, I don’t think you understood the question.

Which is more flexible queueable or future method?

Queueable: Queueable are much more flexible in terms of functionality compared to future methods. They can be chained like batch apex. You can also call a batch class or a future method from them.

Why is callout = true never run in apex?

So they protect the situation by banning such code right away 😉 Make callout first, then your DML. Or make DML, call @future (that’s the purpose, to switch to another thread, separate the contexts) and if the callout comes back with error – do whatever cleanup you’d consider a rollback (delete the record? update it to status = Sync failed?
