How to combine multiple UV maps and textures?

How to combine multiple UV maps and textures?

The atlas actually combines all the textures used in a model to one sheet, arranges all UVMaps to use the new texture, reassigns the materials and textures to point to the new texture AND cleans the old materials no longer used from the project.

Is there a way to combine the Uvs?

To combine the UVs you just need to combine the objects. In order to combine the objects, select both objects and press CTRL+J. Which ever object is active will be used as the final object, merging the first one into it.

Can you combine PBR maps into one texture map?

We have the standard PBR maps for each obejct and want to repack the UVs AND textures so that we can use one texture per map (one albedo, one roughness etc) for the combined meshes which had single maps with unique UVs.

How to combine two different textures into one?

First, join your two object together with CTRL J. Create UV map for your bake that include both objects. Then create a new image for your texture bake, create a new material for it, and make sure it’s selected.

How do you change texture image in Blender?

In blender change the texture image on both the handle and the axe. You can do that by opening the properties region N in the Image Editor and changing the source of the image. You will have to adjust the position of the UVs (because you changed the size and shape of the image texture.)

How do you use multiple UV maps in Blender?

They both do the same thing, which is that they show material assigned image textures and shading. The image gets painted on, since you’re using texture painting mode that directly paints on an image, just isn’t displayed properly. The object also has unapplied scale. Ctrl+A -> scale to apply.

Can you have multiple objects share the same UV?

I have separate objects sharing the same texture / atlas. Try unwrapping and baking two planes for example, set each UV to half of a texture. As long as their UV islands (including border pixels) don’t overlap baking one shouldn’t alter the other. You’ll have to bake each object individually though unless you find an addon to speed that up.

Can you have more than 8 UV maps?

Could do that, but not a good plan. You can have as many materials as you like, but only 8 UV maps. As mentioned, an UV map is a representation of the mesh. When you use multiple materials that get assigned to mesh faces, the same faces are found on an UV map, but the material already limits what is shown.
