Should I install with pip or conda?
In short, pip is a general-purpose manager for Python packages; conda is a language-agnostic cross-platform environment manager. For the user, the most salient distinction is probably this: pip installs python packages within any environment; conda installs any package within conda environments.
When should I install pip?
Installing new packages using pip in the command line and with requirement files. Managing dependencies, separating development and production requirements, and creating a locked requirements file.
Is pip install safe?
No, there are no third-party checks on the code that is uploaded to PyPI (the Python Package Index, which is where pip downloads packages unless explicitly instructed otherwise).
What can I use instead of pip?
npm, Homebrew, Yarn, RequireJS, and Bower are the most popular alternatives and competitors to pip.
Can I use both pip and conda?
Both pip and conda are included in Anaconda and Miniconda, so you do not need to install them separately. Conda environments replace virtualenv, so there is no need to activate a virtualenv before using pip. It is possible to have pip installed outside a conda environment or inside a conda environment.
Does pip install require sudo?
Running sudo pip should be avoided unless absolutely necessary.
Which is Python package manager should you use?

Sometimes you may see a file called requirements.txt in someone’s folder of Python scripts. pip install -r requirements.txt.
Which is better to install pip or Conda?
Concur with eatmeimadanish. Conda first, then pip makes the most sense given your *conda starting point. Anaconda (the distribution) and Conda (the package manager) were designed to solve installation and integration problems that the status quo did not.
Is there a package manager similar to CPM?
Conan’s documentation even compares it to biicode which I was surprised wasn’t mentioned in other answers, but biicode seems to be abandoned much like cpm. pacm has some activity but is LGPL which may be an issue for some projects. This builds on user3071643’s answer, thanks!
Which is the best package manager for C + +?
Conan is the C/C++ package manager that we’ve all been wanting. It has both local and global servers, so it’s good for both business and open source packages. It’s young, and its global repository doesn’t have very many packages. We should all work to add packages to it! I have found that vcpkg has been very useful for Windows and Android.
