When I attempt to move a vertex in edit mode, it moves the whole object, no other vertexs are select apart from the one i am intensionally moving Then you might have proportional editing enabled. Before moving that vertex, press “O” and then try again.

Cant move vertex, face or edge!! Hi, Im new to Maya and have a problem! I can manipulate object when I select it or select object mode but when I try to move edge or vertex I just dont get the x arrows for the move selection to manipulate them and the edge does not highlight when I hover over them.

Can a vertex on an object be manipulated?
All the vertices on the other objects can be manipulated just fine. This is only happening with one specific object.
Is there a way to move a vertex in Blender?
Honestly, I can’t think of anything else that would move the whole mesh like that unless you have some kind of extremely strange contraint set up or something really weird, especially since I don’t think contraints can work on individual vertices. (You must log in or sign up to reply here.)
