What is the scale in Maya?
Scale in Maya is based on real-world units (centimeters by default), and many of Maya’s lights behave more realistically when objects are modeled using approximate real-world scale. This means if you’re modeling a table that’s supposed to be four feet tall, it should be scaled to approximately 162 cm.
How do you scale a mesh in Maya?

What is the function of scale tool in Maya?
The scale tool functions almost exactly like the translate tool. To scale along any axis, simply click and drag the (red, blue, or green) box that corresponds to the axis you’d like to manipulate. Why do I not have scale on my armature?
The problem is generally caused by bones with Stretch To constraints, which each maintains a “rest length”. When you scale and apply size to the armature, the armature object no longer has a scale to multiply with the rest length. I usually detach anything connected to the armature first: Select your armature and enter Pose mode.
How to scale a rigged character in Blender?
So far the only thing that seems to work (almost) is to group mesh and rig, add an empty, and in the empty’s object properties activate duplicate Group and select the name of the group. This gives me an instanced version that I can scale using the empty.
How can I increase the length of my armature?
Find and completely expand your armature. Select each bone, top to bottom, and watch in your buttons window for bones with Stretch To constraints. Whenever you find one, click the little [R] button to reset the rest length. (If your armature is not linked to anything, it should reset to 0.000.)
