What causes the shading to go bad in Blender?
The problem is caused by Blender trying to smooth the shading over too sharp corners. Use autosmooth, add an edge-split modifier, or try bevelling the edges. Also, you might wanna get rid of those triangles, as often long narrow triangles cause some shading problems Well, I deleted one of the faces and looked inside.
When to use glass BSDF in a blender?
The Glass BSDF is used to add a Glass-like shader mixing refraction and reflection at grazing angles. Like the transparent shader, only pure white will make it transparent. The glass shader tends to cause noise due to caustics.
Can a transparent shader be used with a glass shader?
Like the transparent shader, only pure white will make it transparent. The glass shader tends to cause noise due to caustics. Since the Cycles path tracing integrator is not very good at rendering caustics, it helps to combine this with a transparent shader for shadows; for more details see here.
Why does my glass Blender make noise?

Color of the surface, or physically speaking, the probability that light is transmitted for each wavelength.
Why does smooth shaded model have odd shading?
The first has a ngon capping the top, the second is capped with triangles and the last has a ngon cap but has a bevel around the edge. Notice that the 3rd cylinder doesn’t have any weird shading since we eliminated the sharp edge. So to fix, add supporting geometry by beveling your edges to avoid sharp curves and turns.
Why does the 3rd cylinder have weird shading?
Notice that the 3rd cylinder doesn’t have any weird shading since we eliminated the sharp edge. So to fix, add supporting geometry by beveling your edges to avoid sharp curves and turns. Another fix is to just add an Edge Split modifier.
Why does my X-Wing model have odd shading?
I’m currently working on a model of an X-wing that I’m intending for use in a game and running into a bit of trouble with the shading of the mesh. The upper nose is rounded off where the sensor cone attaches, but at the point it reaches the canopy frame it flattens out and meets at a corner.
