Does VPN server go in DMZ?
A demilitarized zone (DMZ) and virtual private network (VPN) can certainly co-exist. Servers that offer services to the public (e.g. Web servers, SMTP servers) are placed in the DMZ, while servers that offer services to internal users reside on the private network.
Can you use a VPN on a VPS?
When you are using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) on a Windows VPS, the issue is that you are going to change the IP which is used to access your VPS. If your VPN provider is allowing it, you can always access your VPS from your VPN IP assuming it is fixed and only if you know it ahead of the connection.
What is VPN DMZ?
An OpenVPN Access Server demilitarized zone (DMZ) uses network address translation (NAT) to send requests coming in on a private or public IP address on the Access Server to a connected VPN client. The idea here is to provide an external static IP for a service running on a VPN client in an internal network.
Why should I use a DMZ?
The main benefit of a DMZ is to provide an internal network with an additional security layer by restricting access to sensitive data and servers. Even if a DMZ system gets compromised, the internal firewall separates the private network from the DMZ to keep it secure and make external reconnaissance difficult.

How does a DMZ work with a firewall?
In the typical firewall scenario, the firewall separates three distinct network zones: the Internet, the private network and the DMZ. Inbound connections from the Internet are allowed only to servers in the DMZ; no direct connections are allowed between the Internet and the private network.
Which is more secure PPTP or OpenVPN?
