Is reading SICP worth it?
Highly recommended! I thought it was pretty decent. I got a job in software 2 years ago and self taught myself enough comp sci, starting with SICP. The book is pretty good as a start to learn abstraction (what people generally call functional programming), basic recursion, and general concurrent evaluation models.
