How do I create a link to a file in SharePoint?
Right-click the file that you want to link to, and select Get a link. Choose the type of link you want, and then copy the link. Return to the document library where you want to add the link, and enter that link in the Create link to dialog.
Connect to a SharePoint Server
- Double-click the .exe file, or right click it and select Run, or select Programs from your Windows Start menu and then List Bulk Export.
- Enter the URL of the portal you need to export from.
- Select if you will use the Interactive User or a Custom Account.
- When ready, click Connect.
Is there a way to download a SharePoint document?
You could type out these links manually or you could concatenate http://company.sharepoint.com/siteName/_layouts/download.aspx?SourceUrl= as it will never change with the link of the file you are trying to download. Note: This will not open the page if that is what you want, it will only download the file.
SharePoint will no longer send the X-Download-Options header, and Explorer 8+ will then not be able to block the opening of the file directly in the browser. This seems to be an all or nothing situation.
How do I import data from SharePoint to excel?
If needed, select OK > Open after the file download begins. If prompted and you trust the SharePoint site, in Excel’s security page, select Enable. In Excel’s Import Data dialog, select the How you want to view this data and Where do you want to put the data options. When done, select OK. The list should appear in Excel.
Scroll down to Browser File Handling, and choose Permissive instead of strict. SharePoint will no longer send the X-Download-Options header, and Explorer 8+ will then not be able to block the opening of the file directly in the browser.
