It is not supported to change site template in SharePoint. You can only find a way to enable communication site experience on modern team sites. There is an OOB method for classic team site but not modern team sites though.
How To Change User Language Settings In SharePoint
- Open your SharePoint Site.
- Click on your profile icon present at the top right corner of the page.
- Click on “My account” option.
- Click on “Settings” option.
- Choose “Language and time zone” option.
- It shows English as the default language.
Do you need to translate a website in SharePoint?
Updated sites or sites you create will require manual translation. See Setup options for multilingual learning pathways. Multilingual support for learning pathways is enabled by SharePoint Online multilingual features for communication sites.
SharePoint Machine Translation Service uses the paragraph language as the Source Language when it translates Microsoft Word documents. For example, if the paragraph is written in Spanish but the language for the paragraph is set to English, the Translation Service will not translate it to English.

It is also possible to integrate document translation and other machine-translation scenarios in your sites through SharePoint Machine Translation API.
Is the SharePoint page in Italian or English?
The SharePoint page is translated as shown in the graphic above. Notice the text for the page banner is now in Italian. What’s translations aren’t visible? To view a fully translated site in a specific language, including the site pages, navigation, and web part, the user’s personal language and regional settings must be set for that language.
