How to share SharePoint folders externally
- Make sure you are using a modern document library.
- Right-click above the folder you want to share, and click Share.
- From the pop-up that appears, choose Specific People, then click Apply.
- Type the external user’s email and hit Send.

How to set external access for external users?
If you want to include SharePoint Online sites in your access packages for external users, make sure that your organization-level external sharing setting is set to Anyone (users don’t require sign in) or New and existing guests (guests must sign in or provide a verification code).
