When to explicitly request a new render frame?
If the app makes changes to the scene or its contents through the Cesium API in a way that is not covered by one of the above cases, for example, using the Entity or Primitive API, then explicitly request a new render frame.
How to render only part of an image?
Shift + B also still works in Camera View but is only there for compatibility and will be replaced entirely by Ctrl + B in future versions. For “Render->Render Image” (F12) to render only part of the image you also need to have Render->Dimensions->Border enabled.
When does requestrendermode raise when a new frame is rendered?
When requestRenderMode is enabled, this event is triggered only when a new frame is rendered. This event is raised at the end of the update/render cycle after a new frame is rendered, but after updates have been made. Which is an example of an explicit render?
For example, an application may have a UI that sets properties of the scene or an object in the scene. In this case, explicitly render when the state of the UI changes. As part of these changes, we’ve split up some of the update and render logic.
What happens to CPU usage when rendering normally?
Timeline showing FPS and CPU usage over time when rendering normally and when in request render mode. During the initial load, both perform similarly. After the initial load, in request rendering mode, new frames are not rendered. This brings CPU usage down to almost 0%.
Why does frame analysis have to be retried?
If the GPU undergoes a power-state transition during frame analysis, the affected analysis pass must be retried because the GPU clockspeed changed and thereby invalidated relative timing results. Frame Analysis limits the number of retries to 10.
