Grant site access to a group
- On your website or team site, click Settings.
- On the Site Settings page, under Users and Permissions, click Site Permissions.
- On the Permissions tab, click Grant Permissions.
- In the Share dialog, type the name of the SharePoint group that you want to give access to.
To open a site from the SharePoint Designer backstage, click the Sites tab in the left-hand menu (if it is not already selected) and then either select a site from the Recent Sites listing (refer to Figure 7.15) or click the Open Site button under Open SharePoint Site.
When do you do not have permission to open a SharePoint site?
You may also get “You do not have permission to open this Web site in SharePoint Designer” error if, at the site collection level, SharePoint designer is not enabled to customize the site using the designer. We can verify from the SharePoint site collection.
Based on the SharePoint designer installed in the machine, you can install SharePoint designer SP1 64-bit or SharePoint designer SP1 32-bit. You may also get “You do not have permission to open this Web site in SharePoint Designer” error if, at the site collection level, SharePoint designer is not enabled to customize the site using the designer.
(Validate: That the URL is the same, including but not limited to ensuring the HTTP vs HTTPS is correct.) I recommend to check your permission in that web site, ensure you have permission to open that web site in SharePoint Designer.
Why is my SharePoint site not open spd2013?
When I’m trying to open the Office365 SharePoint site (” https://domain.sharepoint.com”) in SPD2013, giving the error “You do not have permission to open this website in Sharepoint Designer”. I can open (” http://domain-my.sharepoint.com”) in Sharepoint Designer 2013. I freshly installed SPD2013.
