Move or copy files in SharePoint
- Select files or folders in a SharePoint library.
- On the command bar, select.
- On the Move or Copy panel, choose a destination in the current library, OneDrive, or another SharePoint site.
- On the Move or Copy panel, select a folder in the current library and select Move here or Copy here.
Open this document from SharePoint library >> Edit it in MS Word client. Now, from the Word document top ribbon menu, go to Insert tab >> Quick Parts >> Document Property. You will find the columns created in the SP library. Choose those columns one by one and place those wherever you want in your document template.
Why are there 2 columns in my SharePoint document library?
If you use default document library and later decide to enable SharePoint Publishing features, SharePoint will add 2 columns to your document library, without you knowing about this. If you are using folders, you most likely will not encounter those columns (unless the user decides to rename a file (Edit Properties).
How to create default document libraries in SharePoint?
Give the new library a name, click Create. REMEMBER: You can change the title down the road, however, whatever you type for the name first time, will be permanently part of the document library URL! If you are reading this section, that means that you have already created sites with default document libraries.
Drop down from the action bar that combines the New Folder and New Documents into one. ‘Link’ and ‘Document Set’ are now a standard content types. You don’t have to manually add them from the Library Settings. Drop down from the action bar to upload documents and now upload entire folders…finally.
If you create a new document library – those columns will not appear (even if you enable Publishing Features ). To create a new document library, follow these steps: Give the new library a name, click Create.
