What to do when creating site from custom template?
You can either try deactivating features and re-creating the site template, or you can perform the following manual steps: 1. Rename the site template to .cab 2. Unpack the .cab 3.
The site template requires that the feature {xxxxx} be activated in the site collection. This error comes from “FeatureDependencies” defined in the site template – when creating a site from a template, SharePoint will throw the above error if you’re missing any feature dependencies.
Where do I save the web template solution?
To do this, I downloaded the web template solution by going to the solutions gallery on the top level site on Site Collection A and saving the .wsp file to my local machine. I then uploaded the .wsp file to the solution gallery on Site Collection B.
Why are features not activated in the farm?
I’ve attempted to activate the features listed using the JSOM on both the web feature collection and the site feature collection but I get errors that the features are not installed in the farm. The weird thing is why does the “applying web template” error show that the features are “not activated” when the features aren’t even installed?
