What is enable RSS?
RSS (RDF Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication) is a web feed that allows users and applications to access updates to websites in a standardized, computer-readable format. The RSS reader checks the user’s feeds regularly for new information and can automatically download it, if that function is enabled.
Add an RSS Viewer web part to a SharePoint page Place the cursor where you want to add the web part. Click on the Web Part button under the INSERT tab. Click on the Content Rollup category. Select the RSS Viewer part and click on the Add button.
When to enable or disable RSS support in central administration?
When RSS support is enabled in Central Administration, it is automatically enabled by default at the site collection level. However, a top-level site owner can choose to disable or re-enable RSS support at the site collection level. Before starting this procedure, make sure you are on the top-level site of the site collection.
Do you have to enable RSS feeds on your server?
Note: Before you can receive RSS feeds, the server administrator must enable RSS feeds in Central Administration and the site administrator must have enabled RSS feeds for the site on the Site Settings page. Find information about how to enable RSS feeds see Manage RSS feeds for a site or site collection.
How to manage RSS feeds for a site or site collection?
If you don’t see Site settings, click Site information and then click View all site settings. Tip: If you see the Go to top level site settings link on the Site settings page, you are on a subsite. Select this link to manage RSS for the site collection. On the Site Settings page, under Site Administration, select RSS.
Where can I find the RSS feed for SharePoint?
For SharePoint Online, 2016, 2013, 2010, in the Share & Track group, click RSS Feed. For SharePoint 2007, click View RSS Feed. Note: If the RSS Feed button is disabled, RSS may be disabled for either this site or for the entire site collection.
