How to define aggregate DDD?
A DDD aggregate is a cluster of domain objects that can be treated as a single unit. An example may be an order and its line-items, these will be separate objects, but it’s useful to treat the order (together with its line items) as a single aggregate.
Why aggregate root?
You get the main reason behind aggregate root . Aggregate root encapsulates multiple classes. you can manipulate the whole hierarchy only through the main object. Imagine you have a Computer entity, this entity also cannot live without its Software entity and Hardware entity.
What is aggregate material?
Aggregates are inert granular materials such as sand, gravel, or crushed stone that, along with water and portland cement, are an essential ingredient in concrete. Fine aggregates generally consist of natural sand or crushed stone with most particles passing through a 3/8-inch sieve.
Which aggregate is best for construction?
– Fine aggregates are usually sand or crushed stone that are less than 9.55mm in diameter. Typically the most common size of aggregate used in construction is 20mm. A larger size, 40mm, is more common in mass concrete. Larger aggregate diameters reduce the quantity of cement and water needed.
Why are aggregates important in Domain Driven Design?
They should have more communicative and more applicable associations and be consistently constrained as much as possible. The main target is keeping the relationships between domain objects simple and aligned with domain invariants.
Why are aggregates easier to manage than separate aggregates?
If we have a single big aggregate, that might seem simpler than having two separate aggregates, but it does not work well, the reason is the more big your aggregates are it is harder to maintain their consistency and handle conflicts when several transactions try to update parts of single aggregate at once.
When to include domain objects in an aggregate?
An aggregate represents a concept in your domain and is not a container for items. when including domain objects in aggregate, don’t simply focus on the has-a relationship; justify each grouping and ensure that each object is required to define the behavior of the aggregate instead of just being related to the aggregate.
How are aggregates affected by a data model?
Your aggregates should not be influenced by your data model. Associations between domain objects are not the same as database relationships. Data models need to represent each has-a relationship to support referential integrity and build reports for business intelligence.
