What is bounded context in Microservice?
In the context of Microservices, it means one simple thing: a Bounded Context is the exact opposite of a Microservice! A Bounded Context defines the boundaries of the biggest services possible: services that won’t have any conflicting models inside of them.
What is meant by bounded context?
A bounded context is the boundary of a model that represents those concepts, their relationships, and their rules. Anything that shows domain concepts, relationships, rules, and so on. Since a bounded context is a boundary for a model, it could include concepts from multiple subdomains.
What does bounded context mean?
A bounded context is simply the boundary within a domain where a particular domain model applies. In the book Domain Driven Design, Eric Evans describes several patterns for maintaining the integrity of a domain model when it interacts with another bounded context.
What does the term bounded context mean?
Bounded context is a logical boundary When both sub-domains and the core domain are defined, it’s time to implement the code. Bounded context defines tangible boundaries of applicability of some sub-domain. It is an area where a certain sub-domain makes sense, while the others don’t.
What’s a bounded context?
Which is the best definition of bounded context?
According to Vadim Samokhin, bounded context is a logical boundary. It defines some tangible boundary between sub-domains. He came up with three different perspectives for bounded contexts:
How is bounded context used in DDD design?
Bounded Context is a central pattern in Domain-Driven Design. It is the focus of DDD’s strategic design section which is all about dealing with large models and teams. DDD deals with large models by dividing them into different Bounded Contexts and being explicit about their interrelationships.
Why do we segregate domains in bounded context?
It is desirable that code belonging to a Bounded Context implements a single Subdomain. So we segregate Domain Models by real business intent.
How is the boundary set in DDD strategic design?
This boundary is set by the different way we represent models. DDD’s strategic design goes on to describe a variety of ways that you have relationships between Bounded Contexts. It’s usually worthwhile to depict these using a context map.
