How does mesh collider work?
The Mesh Collider builds its collision representation from the Mesh attached to the GameObject, and reads the properties of the attached Transform to set its position and scale correctly. This means objects can pass through them from one direction, but collide with them from the other.
Is this possible to collide two mesh collider?
Mesh Colliders cannot collide with each other unless they are marked as Convex.
Does mesh collider affect performance?
does a mesh collider have a greater impact on performance even if it uses the same geometry? Yes, it does. For example, a Sphere Collider is just a math equation, where as a Sphere as MeshCollider would need to test each triangle.
Are mesh colliders expensive unity?
So for a detailed or non-convex mesh, or lots of bodies, this can get expensive. And of course, if you have a meshcollider moving near another meshcollider, you pay this cost combinatorically. These costs hit during the physics update step, as part of its collision resolution.
How to generate the correct mesh in Blender?
A solution to this is to make a second mesh in Blender with a third dimension to it, then set the flat one on the Mesh Filter and the one with thickness to the Mesh Collider. In importing a .obj or a .fbx, select the asset. make sure you have generate colliders selected. Here I have imported an FBX into unity, but there are no colliders.
How to create a collider for a blender?
If i understand you correctly, just go to physics tab and apply collision to walls. Or make a secondary box around it and give that collision. This is for blender related stuff.
How to generate correct mesh Collider in Unity?
I started with a circle and used a boolean modifier to create the cutout. Desire is to have the mesh collider around the mesh exactly, meaning no collider on the cutout. How to do this? Make sure you have a Mesh Collider component on your object with the correct mesh set.
Can you make a collider in Tabletop Simulator?
If you have played Tabletop Simulator for some time, then you probably have come across issues with collision of custom objects. Lets take this elephant as an example: When you bring a custom object into the game and make no extra collider for it, Tabletop SImulator will create a box around your model to serve as collision.
