How does detecting presence of GameObject inside camera field work?
This code works very well : GOs rendered by the Camera become invisible as soon as they leave its FOV ; their renderers are disabled so that Unity doesn’t have to realize useless calculations. But in order for this to work, the script needs to be assigned to each GO I want to make disappear, which is not what I want.
How to detect enemies in field of view?
Sebastion Lague did a tutorial on finding enemies within a field of view. Might help. If playback doesn’t begin shortly, try restarting your device. How to calculate the field of view for a macro camera?
The easiest method to determine field of view for macro is to simply put a mm ruler in the field. If a 24 mm sensor width sees 32 mm of ruler, then that is the field of view, and the magnification is 24/32 = 0.75 (this scale of magnification is 1 at 1:1, and is 0 at infinity).
Is the math of field of view ( FOV ) precise?
The math is precise, but the data is less so. The required Focal length and Sensor Size are rounded specifications, losing a bit of precision. This little difference at the small sensor gets magnified in the field and scene. However, the results certainly are close enough to be very useful in any practical case.
How are objects determinate in a camera field?
When you’re moving a camera, you do not move any objects, you just reassign this point in space and recalculate the projection from the new point. Which means to determinate an object’s relative position to this “camera” is to measure the relative position of the object relative to this point and to the parameters which determinate the frustum.
Is the camera a real object in 3D?
Because I think you’re missing the point. In 3D systems, the camera is a non-existent object. It is a virtual object. A point in space and some parameters which determinate how this virtual camera “see” the space.
What does the main camera do in Unity?
By default, the main camera in Unity renders its view to the screen. More info See in Glossary calculations for GameObjects The fundamental object in Unity scenes, which can represent characters, props, scenery, cameras, waypoints, and more.
