How to Link Defect to a Requirement
- Navigate to ‘Linked Entities’
- Click ‘Others’ for linking requirements against this defect.
- Click ‘Link’ button and choose ‘by Id'(we can also select based on a requirement name)
- Enter the Requirement ID against which this defect has to be mapped.
- Click ‘Link’ Button.

How to Create a Test Set
- Select the Test Set.
- Navigate to ‘Execution Grid’.
- Click ‘Select Tests’ Button. The Test Plan Tree opens up.
- Select the Tests to be executed for this Cycle.
- Click ‘<=’ button. This will move/pull test cases from test plan to test lab.
How to create test cases in Quality Center?
Click on the test case you just created and click on the design steps. Next press the button that looks like a little shoe or press alt n to create your first step. Now you need to write step 1 which will include expected result and an actual result.
Where are test cases written in hp QC?
All test cases in HP QC and HP ALM are written in the test plan. The test lab is where we execute them. It is also recommended not to create duplicate tests in the test plan.
How to save shared test steps in Mark as template?
For this you need to save your common/shared test steps in a new test case and then change it to a template using ‘Mark as Template Test’. Then where ever you need these shared steps, open that test case and in the test step section of that case select the option ‘Call to Test’ and then select the shared test case template which you want to import.
